Pre-Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is almost here, that means the start of the holiday season, that means dinners and food, that means getting fat! Anyway, Bryant Park has free iceskating and a fair going on so my friend and I went. This was the 1st time I didn't fall on my ass so yay for that. Afterwards, we vendor shopped around the park, found some amazing stuff. If you're around New York, do stroll by.

Then we spotted the snack shops. We concluded upon Belgium waffles and chocolate covered strawberries. It was shhoo shhweet, mmm.

HH's Showroom

Yesterday I went to my friend, Heather Huey's showroom for her beautifully designed couture hats. Her work is amazing. Calling them hats isn't right, they're wearable pieces of art. She handmakes all of her creations, all different but same style. It was a private event, nice gathering, tasty treats, lovely bartender with a lovely butt, cute knitting session, hot milf [sorry, I had to], and incredible hats. There were no pictures allowed sooo if you're interested in anything about her, hats, millinery, check out her site:

The cheese and crackers were de-lish. They really were.

For Xui Dan

Xui Dan, my pretty Fujianese friend's birfday was a few days ago. We celebrated it at The Fat Black Pussycat, yes, that is the name of the place. It's pretty nice, bar & tables when you enter, Moroccan kinda lounge in the next room, v.i.p. room upstairs, and another lounge but with a live band downstairs. The lounge downstairs is called Village Underground, the live band didn't have a name. They're like a complication of different musicians and singers, they played mostly renditions of songs and requests from the crowd but they did their own thing too. Because of the various musicians from different backgrounds, the music was elcetic and fresh. There was some soul, spanish, reaggae, alternative, and old school stuff. I love the intimate atmosphere of the small stage and crowd, oh, and some of the musicans were cute. I hope they don't mind that I recorded it, just a little though. I had to, Sasha, one of the singers, WOW, what a voice [you can hear it more at the end]:

They put their hearts into it. Sasha did Joan Osbourne's "What If God Was One of Us", belted it out, almost teared up. I dunno, you had to be there. They all do their own things on the side but come together every Thursday @ Village Underground. All I know is that they're AMAZING and I'll be seeing them more. Jamie's gonna be my partner in crime for this one! =P

YG5 speaks.

I went wit friends to the discussion panel for Young Gunz 5 @ ADC, talk about their art and whatnot. Corbis sponsored it and gave out free cookies, one which had a bum bum on it. Needless to say, I took one.

There was this lesbian couple infront of us, interracial too, asian and white. The white girl kept on rubbing the asians' back, it was sweet. [I'm not creepy taking this. I'm just spreadin' the luv.]

Afterwards we decided to eat and along the walk, I noticed a polka dot tie submerged in a puddle in the streets. R.I.P. polka dot tie. =\

So diner, we got the french dipped sandwich, cheeseburger, and monte cristo, all wit fries, yeah.

And then tragedy struck--one of the ass cookies broke!! AW, R.I.P. lady-in-red-boy-shorts-ass cookie. We all had ass that night.

NBC w/ TJ @ UNSQ.

I could never get enough.

[I know. How bootleg/Chinatown asian of me to take pics during a movie. Just wanted to make a gif, yeesh.] One complaint about the movie, freakin' $13 a ticket now?? Maybe it's just Union Square but what the hell. Yo, what's next.

T5S + YG5

So Friday, met up with theophoto and his friend to go to the Triple 5 Soul party. I think it was for the release of a new shirt/campaign for LES Zombies. They cleared the retail space and just had a dj and bar set up. There were a few asses spotted, duh, new york, triple 5 soul, c'mon. Though I think the girl in red was a little suspicious..

Then we headed off to the Young Gunz Show @ the Art Director's Club. He had a friend who won an award but as I was looking at the window, and it was Jenn Lew! She so cute and she had the best spot at the window with her felt creations and mainland pride displayed everywhere! So there was a big line, we couldn't get in through his friend so we waited online. It was alright though cuz we talked to this nice Brazilian girl who does websites and later, they gave us refreshments, a free pass for waiting on line and a little giftbag thing. It had urban decay makeup, I think, so yay!

Check it out, it's at the Art Director's Club:
106 W 29 St, [at 6th ave], til November 22nd.

You gotta be under 30 to get in on the Young Gunz bandwagon so I got a few years, a few chances.

Then we had some Mexican food, no Taco Bell stuff. Nacho Libre was getting tipped.

Bounty Hunter lover loved him some Mexican too.

I LEI BETTER THAN YOU...

WELL, looks like there's more than one "Shi Lei" around the block. there's actually a few:

Shi Lei Wong
shi lei's weblog
I kill
I'm a chinese jew

I no longer see myself the same way. Oh, what am I to do with my so-called identity now? For the 1st Shi Lei, at least I know "wangster" sounds better than "wongster", so there. I guess I'll have to be the best SHI LEI I can be, make my momma proud.

I'M GONNA FIGHT
FOR MY RIGHT
TO WAAAAAAAAAAANG CHUNG!

POLL: Which Shi Lei is fobbier?

First off...HAPPY BIRFDAY TO MY DEAR LITTLE BROTHER!
- - - - - - - - - - -

Last year, I was a typical japanese schoolgirl. My "costume" was put together with everything in my closet. Anything bight, fruity, cute, kiddy, lolita like, fit the standard; it was last minute but easy. this year, I wanted to be Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, for those that don't know [HOW DARE YOU for not knowing]. The costumes online were tacky so I made my own. with pictures, fabrics, my momma's sewing kit, and time management under pressure, I did it. It's not the best stitching job in the world but I'm proud of Sally's dress, yay.

The great thing about Halloween and dressing up for girls, if you wanna be something, you be a sexy something. Cop...sexy cop, nurse...sexy nure, native american...sexy native american. There was also of booties out that night, boobies too, more booties more importantly.

Anyway, I meet up with Malice & K-Fed at the parade, and it was littered with people. We only stayed for a little bit. We bumped into K.I.S.S, Britney, Flavor Flav, ketchup mustard and a few more sillies. nightcap: esquire party, 14th, japs loving ape costumes, kennedy fried chicken, chit chat, taxi, train, goodbye, and goodnight.
